Marriage is a commitment like none other.

I propose that marriage begats a committed relationship like none other. It is the only commitment that is given to another, where everything you do from that point forward is the "business" of your partner and for the most part, the only one that really needs to be satisfied. Some may say that we are the one that needs to be satisfied, but once that commitment is given, we will never be satisfied, as we will always try to do better to please our "better half". I can think of no other relationship that requires such a commitment and am convinced that if both parties don't enter into it with the same resolve and continue in that, then it would be best to have another type of relationship where the commitment isn't a total surrender to another in every part of your life.
